Honoring Robyn Tredwell’s Legacy
Today, I honor the memory of Robyn Tredwell — a visionary land steward, ethnobotanist, artist, and lifelong advocate for living in harmony with the Earth.
Robyn bequeathed her plant press to me, and when I opened the box she left behind, I discovered not one, but two plant presses. I took it as a quiet gesture of continuity — an unspoken invitation to pass one forward.
Today, I’m passing one of Robyn’s presses to Erid Román-Rosario, a rising conservationist in Puerto Rico who has been an invaluable part of our botanical team here at Eye on the Rainforest for over a year. His dedication to the plant world and to conserving endangered species like Ravenia urbani makes this moment especially meaningful.
This is how legacy grows — not just through knowledge, but through tools and trust passed hand to hand. In sharing this press, I feel the weight and wonder of that legacy — rooted in friendship, stewardship, and a shared love for the living world.
